irregularities.

What is a 2D Echo?

A 2D Echo (short for Two-Dimensional Echocardiography) is a heart imaging test that uses ultrasound waves to create live, moving pictures of the heart.

How it works:

  • A handheld probe (transducer) sends sound waves into the chest.
  • These waves bounce off the heart’s structures and return as echoes.
  • A computer converts these echoes into real-time, two-dimensional images of the heart on a monitor.
  • Chamber size & wall motion
  • Ejection Fraction assessment
  • Valve function analysis
